Winter blowing by, guys,
and it’s time to consider your new look for spring. If you want to
turn heads this season, cure your cabin fever by marching to the mall
and snagging the new basics: Style, savvy and sex.
1. Long hair
Read hip, not hippie. We're not talking the flat,
lifeless ponytail from the Woodstock era; this year’s new lengths
are just past the ears, covering the neck with cascading layers. Even
if your hair is fine or not very wavy, the layers offer body and
fullness. If you hair grows out, not down, go for the natural look.
Don’t let it get too big because softer and longer is in.
2. Sandals
A must for casual wear in warmer climes, chocolate brown or black
sandals announce this season’s elegance. No chunky, tire-tread
soles; go for simplicity. Think European. And if you want to do it
right, fellas, invest in a pedicure. Don’t think about it; just go
do it!
3. Pink and blue
Don't even say it. Check the style rags, if you don’t believe me:
Soft pink and steely blue are all over the place this season. Pale
pink dress shirts. Shiny slate casual suits. Steel blue is the new
black.
4. Flat-front
trousers
Married to pleats? It’s time to divorce yourself from convention.
Spring fashion’s exchanged pleats for sleek. And you've got to be
slim to get away with flat fronts; without pleats to help you hide
those extra pounds or pretend that your bulges are anything but
fabric, you’ll need to get back to the gym right away.
5. Small framed
eyeware.
Even if you don't need specs, the rule still applies to sunglasses.
Think geeky chic and keep them small enough that they don't cover your
eyebrows. And if you can’t buy black, think tortoise shell or
chocolate.
